  1. A Brief Guide of MLA Style in Writing Footnotes

  2. Modern Language Association (MLA) is a style format used in a humanities discipline. Students can take help for MLA referencing style from this presentation. 

  3. A white paper must be 8.5” X11”. Set a one-inch margin on all sides of the paper. Moreover, the words written should be double spaced and in Times New Roman style except the title must be in italics format. Avoid using off- white or ivory color for your assignment.

  4. Two types of formatting are considered in MLA style, one is in number or other is by level. Numbering could be in 1, 1.1, 1.2, 2 and 3, whereas unnumbered format is in five-level such as, bold or italics flush left, centered bold or italics and underlined flush left.

  5. In-text citation is used to refer to the source used to collect the entire information of the essay. Generally, the last name of the author or the abbreviated title is closed by parenthesis. For e.g metaphysical poet John Donne stated” Be Thine Own Palace, or The Worlds’ Thy Jail (243).
