The Nairobi National Museum Founded in 1929, the NNM was built to offer visitors a chance to learn about Kenya's culture, history, art and palaeontology. Several intriguing anthropological discoveries and stuffed birds can be found in the museum. Make a great escape by visiting the botanical gardens and enjoy lip-smacking delicacies at the restaurants.
The Giraffe Centre A successful breeding centre that got established in 1970 by raising a baby giraffe. Since then, the breeding program has been quite successful. The centre is opened from 9am - 5pm and visitors can choose to spend a thrilling night at the Giraffe Manor.
The Nairobi National Park Established in 1946 and located 3.5 miles away from the city centre, the Nairobi National Park is home to the black rhino, leopard, lion, cheetah, giraffe, hippos, hyena, buffalo and other wildebeests. Visitors can enjoy a night stay in the park and take part in game drives and safari walks.
The Karen Blixen Musuem Situated at the Ngong foothills, the museum is actually a small house with a shop that sells souvenirs, handicrafts and gives an insight into the bedroom and the dining hall of the Danish author, Karen Blixen who lived their from 1914 to 1931. The gardens are well-maintained and offers breathtaking views of the Ngong Hills.
Dame Sheldrick's Orphanage A haven for elephants and rhinos, this orphanage is located in the Nairobi National Park and has been around since 1970. You can adopt an orphan and makes visits everyday at 5pm after the babies have been fed.
