The impact of this novel virus known as COVID-19 is being felt around the world since early this year and the immediate impact will reverberate for the rest of the year till it withers away or medications to prevent it are developed by pharma companies around the world. However, the impact on our lives, our economies, our health and the world at large is beyond quantification. Though the world has been ravaged by pandemics in the past such as the Spanish flu in 1919 and the plague which swept Europe in middle Europe, the impact of this virus in our increasingly shrinking world is all-encompassing. Here are some ways the world will look after this pandemic has subsided: Working from home - will be more common than now. Some even go far to say that it would be the u201cnew normalu201d. As the past few weeks have shown, for a large chunk of the population working in different sectors, working from remote locations is an option which many will exercise. Virtual Interactions- As social distancing becomes a buzzword, it will show its impact on education, entertainment, and shopping, among other sectors. Large swathes of the world population will fulfill their needs by the virtual world and e-commerce industry. We could end up seeing concerts, rallies, parties and get together being held online.
