CAUSES OF DEATH AROUND THE WORLD BY: Cathy Cuautle 11/22/11
Purpose of the Project • The purpose of the project is to show where certain deaths occur and why they occur in some countries more than others. • I chose this topic because I wanted to see where the most common deaths occur in and why.
Summary of the Project • My project will show/explain: - the most common causes of death - the countries that these deaths are occurring in the most - why certain types of deaths occur more often in some countries than in other
Hunger One of the most common deaths that occur in this world is hunger. Each year, 15 million children die of hunger-related causes. This means that, every day, throughout the world, 40 000 children die. *Africa has to deal more with hunger related deaths because the people there don’t have enough money to feed all the children there.
Toxics *North America has most possibilities to toxics because there’s a lot of plants (mushrooms) that cause people to get sick and die easily Many people can also die because of toxics such as in food, plants, animals, or accidental waste contamination. Unintentional poisonings kill an estimated 355 000 people globally each year.
Car Incidents CALIFORNIA: Another common death is by car. Lots of people these days can afford to buy a car these days so there were nearly 6,420,000 auto accidents in the United States in 2005. *California has the most cars which leads to having the most car accidents.
Diseases Diseases can come from wherever you live. Every country has to deal with the risk of being affected by cancer, HIV, diabetes, obesity, etc. Diseases cause over 300 million illnesses and more than 5 million deaths each year. * most common disease is cancer and diabetes because sometimes you can inherit then from your parents.
Drugs Drugs is just anything that’s not food that harms or changes the body. Lots of famous celebrities dies of this. You would think heroin one of the most strongest drugs would kill more people but because tobacco, alcohol, and drugs are legal they are easier to get. You cant just walk up to any store and buy heroin, its illegal thus leading for it to be in 4rth place. * “Many people believe that millions of heroin addicts have just quit. It's not true. They've died” Dr Alan Leshner, US National Institute on Drug Abuse
In my Community This project will help my community by: • Helping them to be more cautious • Warning them how dangerous the outside world can be • How you can prepare to prevent death.
