  1. 4 Steps to a Successful Group Call Conference calling has long been an integral as a cog for corporate work life. And yet it still can be a major source of frustration for many. Teleconferencing technology has evolved and improved over the years; so, here’s the million-dollar question: Why is it that we still have to endure bad audio conferences? The main source of the problem typically is traced to user error. What’s best for conference calls in terms of practices may seem counterintuitive, and goes against our natural tendencies. Consequently, you can be susceptible to forgetting to adjust the manner in which you’re speaking, and the behavior to optimize the conference call with it. Regardless of whether you already exhibit good habits for your group calls, or need to amp up your conference call game, allow us to give you a few reminders on how to ensure an effective conferencing call whenever and wherever you are.

  2. Speak in your natural speaking tone Admit it. We all have a “phone voice” that we use while taking an important phone call. That one is probably more formal, assertive, and different from the voice we use in casual conversation. Believe it or not though, this “phone voice” is detrimental to productive group calls. 93% of what we have to say is conveyed through our body language. Without seeing the body language of the person speaking during a group call, that non- verbal communication is lost! The natural speaking voice that you use when you’re comfortable? That carries social cues that are valuable! Your inflections and natural speech patterns are these cues, and they become essential without the presence of body language. Using your phone voice, can end up robbing those listening to you of those social cues that are so necessary to effective communication. So, inhale, exhale, leave aside your “phone voice” and talk. Your call participants will find you more engaging.

  3. Stay on Topic What and how many distractions came up in your last meeting? Trying to resolve distractions means a loss of time, and in turn a loss of productivity, defeating the very purpose of the meeting. Deliverables are easy to list, execute and clear off. Calls are a bit more complex. For this, a good tool would be needed, not just in the ability to call many, but to also effectively keep calls monitored depending on the situation. That’s where MultiCall comes in as a solution. A MultiCall, brings people together, and gives everyone the right and ability to contribute value to the conversation. In doing so, one of its most noted features to stay undistracted during calls is Call Monitoring, the handling of which you can explore here.

  4. Stand Up When Speaking For many people, standing up when talking on call would allow them to increase their focus. Consider using a wired or Bluetooth headsets during your group calls to go hands-free. In this manner you can to walk around (and even gesture) during the meeting. MultiCall lets you call on the go, so this may help boost your focus and keep you on task. Be sure to do so while preventing any unproductive or potentially disruptive multitasking.

  5. Know When to Use Mute How you use mute during a group call can effectively make or break your involvement in it. It’s crucial to stay on track, actively toggle your mute button on and off as needed. This becomes all the more crucial for remote meeting participants. Treat mute as your partner for your productivity. MultiCall not only lets you mute yourself, but also to mute your colleagues via Call Monitoring.
