Aboveall,Taylorpioneeredtheconceptofdividingan organizationbetween“thinkingpeople” (managers) and “executingpeople” (workers) –thusinventing managementasaclass,andasthinkingprincipalsof thenon-thinking“humanresources”.Tayloralso pioneeredthefunctionaldivisionoforganizations. Taylorsmethodsandconceptsweresoonunmaskedas inhumanandnon-scientificandhisconsultingmethods asratherineffective.Buttheconceptofdivisiondid nonethelessbecamewidelyadoptedafterhisdeath,in 1915.
