  1. Where life interacts with infrastructure. How Nu Flow Rescues Fire Fighting Pipes As with all mechanical systems, fire suppression systems and their water supply pipes have an expected useful life after which regular repairs or replacement are required. However, using their patented epoxy coating, Nu Flow can upgrade the durability of those pipes and extend their useful life. Nu Flow’s epoxy coating technology is effective in small diameter pipes as well as large diameter water mains and fire suppression supply lines (up to 12” in diameter). You can join a growing list of companies that have preserved and protected their pipes, avoiding the cost and disruption of replacing those systems. For example, Nu Flow completed a retirement community pipe-lining project in which they renovated the fire suppression pipe system with their effective alternative to traditional pipe replacement. Project: Line fire suppression pipe system consisting of ductile steel of various sizes. Customer: Morningside in Fullerton, California, a retirement community surrounded by nature with room to breathe, walk and enjoy a healthy retirement lifestyle. Site: A retirement community built in 1975 with a variety of villas and apartment homes on a 33-acre landscape in Orange County. “All mechanical systems have an expected useful life. With Nu Flow’s epoxy coatings, we are able to extend the life of pipe systems while preventing leaks and corrosion from occurring.” System: Over 1,000 feet of ductile steel pipe ranging from 6” to 8” in diameter with runs up to 300 feet. Situation: The ductile steel pipes were corroding due to age, causing leaks to occur in the system. The pipes were located under buildings, parking lots and landscapes making traditional pipe replacement very costly and disruptive to the lifestyle of residents at Morningside. - Bill Turner, Regional Manager, Nu Flow Solution: Working with Western Fire Protection of San Diego, Nu Flow received approvals and permits to restore the facility’s fire system piping. Testing, approvals and an extensive list of references enabled the city of Fullerton to give its stamp of approval to Nu Flow. After repairing existing leaks and cleaning the inside of the system, Nu Flow applied an evenly coated layer of their patented epoxy to stop corrosion and prevent future leaks. Aging problems in potable pipe systems, whether made of copper, steel or other materials, are common in all commercial, industrial and residential buildings. Whether you are experiencing problems now or are interested in preventing the inevitable failure of your plumbing system, Nu Flow is available to restore your peace of mind.
