SLOVENE school system • Pre-school (age: 3-5 years) • Primaryeducation(age: 6-14 years) Primary school lasts 9 years and it‘s compulsory. • Secondaryeducation After primary school,learners can choose between Gymnasium, Specialized Secondary School or Vocational Secondary School. Theschoolingtakes 2 to 4 years. • Tertiary education The higher education study programmes are offered by public or private universities and single higher education institutions.

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL • Tončke Čeč PrimarySchoolis located in Trbovlje. • Aproximately 300 pupilsattendourschool. • Weare divided into 20 classes (from the 1st to the 9th grade). • We also have a special needs programme for learners with special needs. • Mrs Katarina Pajer Polh is our principal. She is kindandverygood at herjob.

  4. Tončka čeč Our school is named after national hero TončkaČečwho was born in Trbovlje in the time of Yugoslavia. She was an activist and a revolutionary during WW2. She was proclaimed Slovenenationalheroine on July 21, 1953.

  5. Lessonsstart at 8.20 (some at 7.30). • They last 45 minutesandbetweenthelessonsthere are 5-minute breaks. • From 9.55 to 10.15 wehave time to eatourschoolbreakfast. • Wefinishschooldifferently, depending on ourtimetable.

  6. EXTRA(CURRICULAR) ACTIVITIES Besides regular classes, we have a lot of different school activities: • School Choirs, • Drama Club, • Debate Club, • Environmental Club, • Science Club, • Mathematics Club, • History Club, • Geography Club, • Art Club, • Cookery Classes, • Sports, • …

  8. CULTURAL SCHOOL Ourschool is proudofthetitleCulturalSchool. Thatmeansthatwehave a lot ofdifferenteventsgoing on in ourschool as well as wehave to be behaveproperly.

  9. ECO SCHOOL Our school is an Eco School. We recycle, collect paperandempty containers (like cartons, plastic bottles, cans, used electric appliances,batteries, cartridges and toners).Wealsomake products from therecyclingmaterial.

  11. HEALTHY SCHOOL Ourschool is alsoa HealthySchool. Thatmeansthatwestresstheimportanceofregularexercisingandhealthyeating.

Hi5 • Hi5 is aninternationalprojectdesignedbyAngliaNetworkEurope. • Thisprojectenablespupils to communicatewithotherstudenstallovertheworld. • We make shortvideos, writeessays, learnEnglishand make skypecallswithour partner school. • Wehavestartedwiththeprojectthisschoolyearand so far it hasbeenreallygreat.
