  1. The last few years have brought many challenges due to the pandemic, and it has had a great impact on the mental health of the population around the world. People with existing mental illnesses have experienced even greater effects, and healthcare workers who have worked tirelessly to provide care in difficult circumstances have also faced additional stress. Students have had to adjust to online classes and employees have faced risks due to the economic fallout from the pandemic. Those who have lost loved ones have also been affected emotionally. Due to these and other factors, the need for mental health and psychosocial support is expected to increase significantly in the coming years. What is Telehealth? Telehealth is the use of digital information and communication technologies to access healthcare services remotely and manage your healthcare. Technologies can include computers and mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones. This may be the technology you use from home. Or a nurse or other healthcare professional can provide telehealth from a doctor's office or mobile van, such as in rural areas. Telehealth for anxiety can also be technology that your healthcare provider uses to improve or support health care services. The goals of telehealth, sometimes called e-health or m-health (mobile health), include the following: ● Making health care easier to obtain for people living in remote communities or in the countryside. ● Keep yourself and others safe if you have an infectious disease like COVID-19. ● Offers primary care for many conditions. ● Make services easier to offer or practical for people who have limited ability to move, time or transport. ● Offer access to specialist doctors. ● Improve communication and coordination of care between members of the health care team and the person receiving care. ● Offer advice for self-management of health care.

  2. ● Many people found telehealth helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic and are still using it. Telehealth is being used more frequently. Here are many examples of telehealth services that may be helpful to your health care. Anxiety and the benefits of telehealth Anxiety is a common and frequent function of the human experience. Our fight or flight response is integrated and has a discrete purpose. At one time, it was a valuable tool in ensuring our survival in the face of an immediate Talk therapy for depression . He prepared us to flee from large predators through the frozen wilderness and kept our eyes and ears open for any sign of danger. In a modern world where we don't have to evade saber-tooth tigers, anxiety is a little less helpful. But, for many, it is an even more penetrating experience than it was for our ancestors. Telehealth preference for mental health depending on conditions Telehealth was most popular with people struggling with anxiety and fear-related disorders. The group of people who preferred telehealth for anxiety (27.5%) was larger than those who preferred face-to-face visits (25.5%). On the other hand, those treated for schizophrenia did not prefer telemental health visits (1.7%) to face-to-face visits (2.7%). Additionally, black and Hispanic people who lived alone and people with lower incomes were less likely to opt for telemental health. However, the researchers postulated that a possible cause for the difference may have been a lack of access to technology or a lack of skills needed to use the necessary technology. Study Findings on Telehealth for Mental Health Dr. Zhu and his colleagues used a non-governmental claims clearinghouse to analyze data from 2016 to 2018 and compare the pandemic period of March to

  3. December 2020. They reviewed a total of 101.7 million outpatient health visits. mental. They identified individuals 12 years of age or older who encountered primary diagnosis codes for mental health conditions and classified the encounters as in-person or telehealth, using current procedural terminology (CPT) and place-of-service codes. The results showed that in-person mental health visits decreased by 21.9% after the start of the pandemic, despite the fact that it produced a climate that exacerbated mental health problems. However, the industry quickly recovered as many patients turned to telehealth for mental health treatment, with 47.9% transitioning to telehealth by the end of the year. Future of Telemental Health While they predict a strong growth trajectory for telemental health, the researchers stress the importance of expanding access to services through new modalities without supplanting the face-to-face care needed for certain groups. They concluded: While lowering payment and regulatory barriers may improve access to care, increased reliance on telehealth could exacerbate existing health care disparities or worsen care outcomes for other populations, particularly if the Broadband Internet access is limited in some regions or not available to low-income people. or clinically vulnerable populations. They continued: Future research is needed to understand how telehealth modalities can best improve equitable access to mental health care in the face of increased overall demand.
