  1. The Call of the Bride Revelation 19:7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.

  2. Introduction: Who are we? Satan is always attempting to steal the Bride’s identity The church has an Image problem… both inside and out Christian friend recently… “Ron, I love the Lord but I’m not too fond of His church.” A non-Christian who states, “I think Jesus is cool but the church is off the charts hypocritical”

  3. Discovering God’s ideas over His church. Deut 7:6For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession. Lots of confusion in our World today To Understand God’s plan for us To Define for us our responsibilities and who we are in Christ

  4. Text: Revelation 19:1-9 After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting: “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, 2 for true and just are his judgments. He has condemned the great prostitute who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged on her the blood of his servants.”

The smoke from her goes up for ever and ever.” 4 The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne. And they cried: “Amen, Hallelujah!” 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying: “Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both small and great!” Revelation 19:3-5

  6. 6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! (4Th Hallelujah) For our Lord God Almighty reigns. 7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Revelation 19:6-7

  7. 8Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.” (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)9Then the angel said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’” And he added, “These are the true words of God.” Revelation 19:8-9

The Bridal Picture • Old Testament Israel is pictured, as the unfaithful wife of Yahweh who is destined to be restored in the future kingdom. • In the New Testament, marriage is also used to describe the relationship between Christ and the church, the Church is regarded as a Virgin Bride Waiting the Coming of her Heavenly Bridegroom .

  10. What does this mean to us? Speaks of a growing love and intimacy with Jesus our Bride groom. Speaks of the relationship of submission/cooperation that we should give to Christ our bridegroom. Speaks to the commitment that Christ is calling to His church to make toward Him

  11. I. The Bride picture stuns us with His ravished Heart! Isaiah 62:2-4 NLT2 The nations will see your righteousness. Kings will be blinded by your glory. And the Lord will give you a new name. 3 The Lord will hold you in his hands for all to see—a splendid crown in the hands of God. 4 Never again will you be called the God forsaken City or the Desolate Land. Your New Name will be the City of God’s Delight and the Bride of God, for the Lord delights in you and will claim you as his own.

  12. “Ravished”is the word that is used of Isaac’s heart toward Rebekah's, in their love affair. Gen. 24:67 Nations will see your beauty … Kings blinded by your glory A New Name The Lord will display you as His precious crown Your New Name … City of God’s Delight … Bride of God The King of the Universe has a ravished heart for His people!

There she will sing as in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt. 16 “In that day,” declares the Lord, “you will call me ‘my husband’; you will no longer call me ‘my master.

  19. A call to willing surrender and cooperation A call to protecting the Newly formed Union by respecting our Head A call to cherishing the cost and uniqueness of this union vs. 25-28 The Call in light of His love

  21. I know my destiny and my future. Since I am the Bride of Christ I understand now my identity. Since I am the Bride I am making myself ready Rev. 19:7-9 Since I am the Bride I have One focus … My Bridegroom My Shockingly Exalted Future!

  22. Conclusion: The Call of a Bride’s heart A church who longs for intimacy and finds it in our worship A church which wants to please her beloved and lives in light of this relationship. A church who anticipates the “Face to Face” as a Waiting Bride does her beloved. A church who is rejoicing in her Bridegroom, Telling everyone she knows about Him! A church who lives in the day to day…with awesome fellowship in prayer and communion.
