  1. Breathtaking Wonder A Guide to the Grand Canyon

  2. Almost five million people visit the Grand Canyon every year. This mile deep canyon is separated into two distinct points of view: The south rim, which is responsible for 90% of all tourism, and has an average elevation of 7000 feet. The north rim, which is in a much more remote area, and can only be reached by a 21 mile hike through the canyon or a 220 mile drive around the canyon.

  3. Overview The South Rim is open year-round, while the North Rim operates from May 15 to October 15; both entrances remain open 24 hours a day.The canyon has extraordinary views no matter what season you visit. On the follow pages we are going to highlight many points of interests of one of the world’s greatest natural wonders.

  4. South Rim: Spring Take a ride over to the Desert View Watchtower, this 70-foot, four-story structure was completed in 1932. Fly above the canyon in an affordable plane plane ride; view the pure majesty of the South Rim from the sky. Special Events: • Fossil Walk • Bike the Park Week

  5. South Rim: Summer There is so much to do for visitors of all ages, guided walks, adventure hikes, and much more. Hop in a water bus and experience the grandeur from the Colorado River – while down there, check out the ancient Petroglyphs. Watch the sunset while on a guided jeep through the Kaibab National Forest. Special Events: • First Friday Film Fest • Star Party • Echoes from the Canyon

  6. South Rim: Autumn The change in light will color your Grand Canyon experience – stroll the short distance between Powell and Hopi Points an hour before sunset to see miraculous views. Want more adventure? Try rafting down the Colorado River or taking a guided tour on the back of a Harley-Davidson. Special Events: • Grand Canyon Music Festival • Annual Celebrate of Art • HawkWatch International

  7. South Rim: Winter When the wind gets chilly and the snow begins to fall the canyon becomes a winter wonderland. Many of the hikes, and bike trails are open, but if your looking for activities in warmer locations, try the museums, or take a helicopter ride to truly appreciate the seasons blessings. Special Events: • Kolb Studio Tour • Evening Programs

  8. Inner Canyon The Corridor Trails are the only trails that are maintained and patrolled frequently. These trails are South Kaibab, Bright Angel, and North Kaibab. In addition to hiking and camping, you can raft and swim in the Colorado River.

  9. North Rim There are over a dozen trails around the North Rim, and the North Rim Visitor Center is a great place to find the perfect trek. Soar over this often forgotten side of the canyon on a beautiful, narrated plane tour; the rides allow guests to glide over the Kaibab National Forest and see parts of the canyon often ignored by tourists. Special Events: • North Rim Star Party • Symphony of the Canyon
