  4. Vision Zero for Gun Safety – citywideHuman Services Element Introduction Human services are services that enable individuals and families to meet basic human needs…and offer a continuum of support including intervention, prevention, and enhancement. In order to address these needs, Bellevue has established five community goals, which state that all community members should have: Food to eat and a roof overhead. Supportive relationships within families, neighborhoods, and communities. A safe haven from all forms of violence and abuse. Health care to be as physically and mentally fit as possible. Education and job skills to lead an independent life.

  5. Vision Zero for Gun Safety – citywideHuman Services Needs Update – Cross-connect GOAL #3: A SAFE HAVEN FROM ALL FORMS OF VIOLENCE AND ABUSE Why is this Goal Area Important? All forms of personal violence, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse and neglect, are unacceptable in any of our communities. During times of stress, people can be more vulnerable, and may need more support to handle situations without violence. Early intervention with individuals and families is critical to prevent additional physical and mental health issues…equally important are efforts to educate the community on what strategies are effective to prevent violence from occurring in the first place.
