Outline • Project overview • ECE 270 knowledge used • Project demo
Project Overview Digital Real-Time Intelligent Networked Kegerator. 1. An ability to sense and control beverage temperature. 2. An ability to identify authorized users via electronic identification 3. An ability to track consumption on an individual basis 4. An ability to display user/device status on an LCD 5. An ability to control the function of and report the status of the Kegerator via an embedded web server.
Design Challenges Faced • Hardware Selection • PCB Layout • Power Supply Design • Circuit Debugging • RS-232 Communications
ECE 270 Knowledge Used • Digital Logic – ( XOR Gates) • Basic Electrical Principles (Pull-up Resistors, current sinking/sourcing) • How to determine electrical characteristics from datasheets • Software Switch Debouncing
Project Demo • Root Beer Floats
