  15. Disbanded • The 9th and 10th Calvaries were disbanded in WWII, but “Buffalo Soldiers” continued to serve until the last segregated unit that fought in the Korean War. • In 2005, Mark Matthews died at the age of 111 as the oldest Buffalo Soldier.

  16. Who remains? • Dr. William H. Waddell IV by some accounts, was the last living Buffalo Soldier.
