    1. DLA Small Arms Serialization Program (SASP) Presented by DRMS-NOS K-marie Logan December 11, 2003

    3. PROGRAM DLA Central Registry is maintained by DRMS-NOS Program Manager: K-marie Logan (DSN 932-5062) Maintains inventory of DLA Security Forces 5 DLA Activities 2 DRMOs with weapons on inventory DRMOs Crane and Anniston Not active weapons Awaiting Reutilization, Donation (Fed, FMS), or Demilitarization Current inventory in excess of 125,000 Small Arms Serialization Program (SASP) is the automated registry for DLA.

    4. SASP AUTOMATED SYSTEM DLA Small Arms Serialization Program (SASP) is an Oracle database. Re-engineered Sept 2002, and moved from the mainframe to a mid-tier application. Benefits Real time processing vs. weekly cycle processing Provides more visibility to DRMS on the weapons assets. Real time query capabilities On-line reports and reporting capabilities Via Client server or Web. Did not affect interfaces with the services Still utilizes data elements prescribed by MILSTRAP to interface between component registries.

    5. TRANSACTIONS Registry data to and from the services are transmitted through DAAS via MADS. Monthly overlays are sent to DoD Central Registry using current FTP procedures. Transaction Issues: Still having issues with “S” Transactions being transmitted to DLA SASP. “S” Transactions not being transmitted Only DRMOs Crane and Anniston receive weapons “S” transactions still being submitted to SASP for other DRMOs. Demil’d weapons being turned in to DRMO, but still being recorded as “S” transaction. DRMS receives as scrap and should not be recorded in SASP. These should be shown as Demil on service registry and not transmitted to SASP.

    6. CURRENT INITIATIVES Automated Interface with SASP and DRMS Automated Information System (DAISY) Currently working with IT to fund and begin work on the Interface Current process requires input into both SASP (as central registry), and DAISY as the official property accounting system. Interface will allow for one-time input for weapons. SASP input will be FTPd to DAISY. Currently input of weapons is done in both SASP and DAISY. Better accountability and data integrity Decreased Workload Will not affect transactions between service registries.
