  2. The Desert Tortoise • The Desert tortoise lives in the deserts of Utah and other deserts. • They have water proof skin which makes it so they don’t loose any water through it. • They eat mainly green leaves of plants and insects.

  3. Caribou • Caribou live in the mountains, not many live in Utah, but they could. • They live in the Taiga all year long, and have to search for food. • They are hunted by wolves.

  4. The Red Fox The Red Fox lives in the forests and hills of Utah. They are cunning and sly. Most humans don’t even know they are there. They eat mostly rodents.

  5. The Blue Heron The Great Blue Heron lives in the wetlands of Utah. There they hunt for fish and make their nests in the large cottonwood trees surrounding the lakes. They have adapted long bills and necks. These adaptations assisted them in catching fish.

  6. The Grizzly Bear Grizzly bears live in the mountains of Utah. They are omnivores, which means they eat plants and animals. They love fish and berries. They also hibernated during the winter.
