  1. Things That Physiotherapists Want You to Do

  2. Home Exercises • Therapists ask their patients to do some home exercises for a reason. Once you have been taught the movements and exercises, you need to practice them at home, like you did homework in school. You spend a few hours with the therapist, but what about the rest of the day? You need to practice the moves to loosen the stiffness and rigidity.Everyone knows that practice is for your betterment only. So, the next time physiotherapists give you homework, do it.

  3. Record your Movements • Doing the right movements and correct postures is highly imperative in physiotherapy. One incorrect move and you may see an adverse effect. It is understandable that there are a series of exercises and it is possible to forget a thing or two about them. So the best solution is to record them. Everybody has a smartphone, so you can’t make any excuses.Whether you take physiotherapy at home or at the clinic, make a video or click pictures, but first, ask your therapist so that they don’t mind you recording the session.

  4. Be Aware Of Your Posture • As we mentioned earlier that one incorrect move can have an adverse effect, this is valid even when you are not exercising. There has been an increase in the number of desk jobs & now days’ work from home. In almost every household, you will see people doing work from home, sitting on desks stooping and slouching in front of computer systems. This can do some serious and permanent damage. You need to watch your posture every time; the way you sit, the way you stand, the way you walk, etc. If you have a really bad habit of slouching, you can put a reminder on your phone, so every time it beeps, you’ll know what to do.

  5. Workout • Whether you are in physiotherapy or you have been healed, you need to keep your body active throughout your life. As a matter of fact, if a person works, they might not need to go to therapy in the first place. Working out along with therapy will speed up the process of recovery. It also builds immunity and protects the body against various diseases. Working out has also been proven beneficial for heart conditions, asthma, diabetes, arthritis, and many more. Just 30 minutes of daily workout also comes with little side benefits, such as you will be fit as a fiddle, will lose weight, you will look younger, you will have glowing skin, and you will have a better sleeping and eating schedule.
