Explain the skills and attributes need for leadership • A leader should be able to inspire and motivate others • A leader is required to display a high level of honesty and integrity • Rather than running away from the problem, a leader should be able to solve problem and be able to analyze issues. • A leader should have great communication skills. He should be able to comment in a way that is powerful and prolific.
Compare the appropriate leadership • Directive leaders would tell the people what and when to do. They would also tell the people of consequences if they fail to do a thing. • Affiliative leaders would focus on employee and their emotional needs over job requirements. • During crisis period the executives with participative leadership style would focus on collaborating with employees to find solution. • During crisis the pace setting leader would try to lead by personal heroics and would want others to follow him or her.
Leadership style needed for Change • During change the pace setter would be the change that he or she wants from the employees and would want others to follow him. • The affiliative leader would try to understand the emotion of people objecting change and try to empathize with him or her. • The participative leader would try and discuss the change requirements and ask the employees to participate in discussion while trying to set new directions. • Directive leader would just tell people what he wants them to do and would caution them about the after effects if they refuse.
Leadership needed for implementing new strategy • While trying to implement new strategies, the visionary leader would should the challenges facing the organization and thus get the support of employees . • The directive leader would just tell the strategy and would want employees to follow the same. • The participative leader would discuss with employee regarding strategy and way to implement the same. • The pace setter would try to lead by personal heroics.
Methods to be used for motivating staffs to increase sales • Money • Using peer pressure and competition amongst sales force people. • Offering experiences in career. • Offering the sales force different types of games and perks. • Looking back to see the length of path company has travelled to come.
