What we are discussing here? Here’s a quick summary of what we covered in our session. We are going to explain 6 secrets which helps you to become perfect in Sales. #1 Sales is a skill. It’s not equal to your product or service. Irrespective of how good your product or service is YOU need to have the skill to sell it. Entrepreneurs sometimes pay too much attention to product knowledge/information and forget that sales is a conversation. Think about how you can match your customers benefits. Don’t merely dump your product knowledge on your customer. They don’t need a wikipedia!
#2 Sales is about asking questions and not about vomiting information PowerPoint presentations and copious information about your products is passe. As repetitive as it may seem, the BIG secret of sales is to understand your audience, speak their language and fit your product or service seamlessly in their lives. Don’t go out there and bombard your audience with content that’s boring, technical or overwhelming –it’s not going to solve ANYTHING for you!
#3 Don’t get stranded in the game of sales. Build your team to have those conversations and not just sell to the audience. It’s not just passion that’s required in selling. Because your team may not have the passion that you have as an entrepreneur and most sales teams fail because the team is not able to translate your passion. Keep passion on one side and conversation, understanding your audience at the epicenter of your sales game. As long as you have conviction and can showcase value to the audience, you can sell effectively.
#4 65% = Let your customers do the talking, 35% = You do the talking Wondering what’s the perfect sales conversation? It’s to allow your customers to do more of the talking, having them ask more questions while you listen and chime in as and when required. Sales is about listening intently. And that’s something most people get wrong because most people simply want to sell ‘blindly’ without understanding your audience. Don’t judge the sales meeting based on HOW much you spoke! It’s a misconception many people have!
#5 Game of Sales is not about price, it is about VALUE. The next time your customers tell you that they find your prices very high and that leaves you double thinking your current prices, remember that everything about your sales pitch is about the true value you’re providing to your customers. There’s no such thing as ‘high’ price as long as people find value in your price, you’re good! Also, people are ALWAYS willing to pay the price as long as they find value in what you’re selling.
#6 You ought to stay relevant if you want to continue playing the game of sales. Don’t fret about your competition. If you have people buying the same product, getting the same value at a better price (from your competition) then deep dive and find out why that’s happening. Follow that up by fixing your operations, offering better customer service, fix your overall customer experience. And, always understand that customers will look at the best prices. But first they will find value. So, do your research and always find ways that can help you stay relevant!
