The exams test the candidates’ knowledge in subjects like physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and general knowledge. Merit-Based Selection: Entry into postgraduate programs (MSc. Agriculture or related courses) is mostly based on merit, whereby academic performance and the entrance examination scores are taken into account as well as, in rare cases, personal interviews and group discussion. Reservation Criteria: Generally, Indian universities adhere to government prescribed reservation quotas that are allocated for various classes, including SC, ST, OBC and EWS. People from these categories may have special reservation benefits. Application Process: However, applicants will be required to follow an online application process that may require payment of an application fee and submission of supporting documents that must include academic transcripts, identification, and category certificates among others. Interview or Counseling: Some institutions may require candidates to attend an interview or counseling session to ascertain their readiness for the programme. The discussion may involve the candidate’s motivations, future plans and agricultural concerns. Foreign Nationals: India admits foreign nationals to many agriculture institutes. There may be additional requirements for international students which may include English language proficiency tests and other visa documentation during the admission process.
