  1. While in public service, Sir M.V. had the right to a company car, but without hesitation refused it. While all of his colleagues accepted such official vehicles and used them also for personal purposes, Sir M.V. saved money for several years and finally bought a car for personal use. Here is another interesting anecdote about the work ethic of Sir M.V. When a friend came to him one evening, he was working on a document, and he was asked to wait. After a while Sir M.V. turned off the lamp, put the pen and papers aside, pulled out another lamp, and grabbed another set of pens and papers.A friend found this strange and hesitantly asked him if there was something wrong with the other pen, paper and lamp. Sir M.V. calmly explained to him that up to this point he worked in an office and therefore uses an office lamp and stationery. Now that he will be doing his personal work (with his friend) it will require his personal lamp and stationery !! Sir M.V. woke up at 4:30 every morning and came to the office by 7:00 with clean and tidy clothes that he used to wash and iron. From 7 am he worked until 8 pm. Whenever he had to give a speech, he rehearsed it for hours with discipline. His punctuality was so sharp that there is even folklore about it, including the fact that the people of Mysore usually set their clocks when they saw him on the way to the office. In old age, Sir M.V. visited the US with his Indian group to learn about steel mill and metallurgical procedures. A friendly American officer walked them through the factory and after showing all the usual medium-sized equipment, the officer finally showed the giant machine and told them that in order to understand how it works, you have to climb a 75-foot staircase. While the members of his group, mostly young people, were hesitant to come forward (believing that they were highly qualified for climbing stairs), Sir M.V. immediately took off his coat and shoes and began to climb the stairs. for mor details visit:https://shouts.site/sir-m-visvesvaraya/
