Tooth Decay • Even though your child will be eventually losing their baby teeth, that doesn’t make them any less important. These are placeholders for adult teeth, and should be properly cared for as the permanent teeth will be.
Sensitivity in the Teeth • It is completely normal for younger children to have sensitive teeth. Most often this is noticed when eating or drinking hot or cold products. Learn about these sensitivities early on and make changes to help.
Grinding • In many cases grinding is an involuntary and damaging habit. This is common in childhood, and is often stopped as children get older. Make an effort to stop the problem by having your child wear a night guard.
Thumb Sucking • If your child is still sucking their thumb after their first teeth have come in, make an effort to get them to stop. Thumb sucking affects the teeth, and may lead to more advanced dental problems down the road, especially after the permanent teeth start to come in.
