  2. Dealing with new words • We do not need to know all the words to understand a text. • When we see a word that we do not know we need to determine if it is essentialor non-essential.

  4. Examples of essential words • Pesticide prices are much higher than last month. • The amount of Puerto Rican fruits sold in the island always increases in April. • Some agronomists believe that the coffee industry is in precarious conditions.
