What do you have to do for English 9? • Read the letter explaining your assignment. • Choose a book off of your reading list. • Complete a book log.
What do you do for Honors English 9? • Read the letter explaining your assignment. • Get the books on your list. • Complete the reading assignment.
Where do you get what you need? • Your language arts teacher will give you a letter, book list and reading log.
What do you do if you lose your materials? 1 Go to the school web page to view this show (click on Summer Reading off of the homepage) http://www.ccps.org/rsms/rsms.htm
What do you do if you lose your materials? 2 Go to the CCPS web page; then select “Language Arts” in the CCPS Quick Links drop down menu list. Scroll down and click on the high school link, and you’ll see a link for “9th grade summer reading requirement.” Try this for a quick link
Where do you get a book? • The Public Library • Your high school library • Local book stores
How do you do this? • Follow the directions in your log (or on the letter from the Honors English 9 teacher) - they are just like activities that you have been doing in class.
When do you turn this in? • Reading assignments are due the first week of school - even if you take English second semester. • An English 9 (Regular or Honors) teacher will collect them.
Why are you doing this? • To keep your brain in shape! • But, if that is not a totally convincing reason…
Why? • The summer assignment will be graded for English 9 • Your summer work will be part of instruction during the first week of class.
