Common Infections Spread Through the Use of Cosmetic Products • Conjunctivitis- inflammation of the conjunctiva. • Pinkeye-An acute, very contagious form of conjunctivitis, characterized by the inflammation of the eyelids and eyeballs. • Cold sores/herpes/fever blisters: watery blisters in the skin or mucous membranes (such as the mouth or lips) http://www.tedmontgomery.com/the_eye/eyephotos/pics/Conjunctivitis.jpg

  3. How Are the Diseases Spread? • The first way that they can spread is through self contamination. • Examples: • Not washing your hands • Distribution of normal flora to other parts of your body
