It is time during the school day that is “released” to parents in order to accommodate their religious beliefs.
Why Do Students Need Released Time? • Students develop and grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. • Public schools provide the mental and physical development, but are prohibited from addressing spiritual subjects on campus during the school day.
Why Do Students Need Released Time? • Spiritual issues can be addressed during released time. • It provides the moral and spiritual foundations that students need to combat the negative peer pressures they encounter at school.
Why Do Students Need Released Time? • It provides positive peer support among their friends as they provide encouragement to one another about the lessons learned together in released time, holding each other accountable to those standards.
