Earth moving equipment is the heavy duty equipment that is used to remove earth, debris, boulders and rocks from a construction site. The most commonly used earth moving equipment is excavators, backhoe loaders, bulldozers, skid steer loaders, motor graders and trenchers. <br>An Excavator is mounted on wheels or tracks and is used to dig trenches, holes or foundations, rough grading and lifting of pipes, prefab pieces, and other equipment. <br>Backhoe loaders are similar to tractors but they have an adjustable shovel in front and a bucket at the back of loader which is used for digging. They are normally used to move dirt along open tracts of land. The weight of the bulldozer can also be used to crush larger boulders. <br>A skid steel loader is ideal for use in confined spaces because they can turn within their own footprints and is most often used in the construction industry. <br>Motor graders are used to fine grade dirt or gravel roads and they consist of a long blade that is adjusted to meet certain angles and to create a flat surface. <br>The trencher is used to dig trenches in which pipes can be laid.
