  1. 5G: A Marketing Trend for 2020 Every generation of cellular technology that we call 1 G, 2 G, 3 G has brought great advances that only existed years ago in our imaginations. Many of us can remember the first generation of mobile phones — they were massive, clunky, and expensive, but they gave us a degree of communication we never had before. Today, we have smart phones that, in our lives, have replaced so many devices. Cellular technology has similarly grown from 1 G to 5G. We've seen the proliferation of smart phones, social media, and video and audio sharing since the evolution of wireless technology via 4 G (also known as LTE). Cellular networks of the fifth generation-5 G have now become a reality following years of expectation and a large amount of speculation. The first appearance of the 5 G (fifth-generation wireless) network was in April 2019. This new cellular technology, the 4 G network, is about 10 times quicker than its predecessor. Greater Speed The potential to transfer more data quickly comes with greater speed of about 10 gigabytes per second i.e., 100 times faster than 4G. Faster connections would allow more people from anywhere to get online and more people online means growth of the market. Lower Latency It is expected that with it’s lower latency, 5G would improve wireless networking by bringing fibre-like speeds and extremely low latency capabilities to almost any area. It'll also allow us to connect in real time with our customers.

Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) would be more relevant as marketing and sales teams will tailor consumer experience to their needs. Increased Use of Personalized Marketing It would produce an enormous amount of data as the frequently used devices are connected to 5G. Thus, if advertisers have access to high-quality consumer data, it will help them better understand their client's needs that open the door to personalized marketing. We'll see a dashboard of a car displaying commercials in the coming days. This will open a variety of advertising opportunities. Increase in Video Advertising Video has now been the most viewed content on the Internet. When 5G reduces the page load time and buffering, the video consumption will increase. Cisco's visual networking index white paper notes that by 2022 video traffic will account for 82% of all web traffic. Interactive Ads Increase Apart from a large range of digital ads, it could become more interesting to sell content with the high-speed capabilities of 5G. While advertising that allowed viewers to connect with the material once seemed impractical with buffer time and other technological limitations, 5 G could make this approach more available to marketers. Finally, advertisers would have plenty of ways to create convincing high-resolution commercials to attract customers.

But, with the advent of 5 G technology, also in remote areas of the world, wireless Internet would be faster and more common. In addition, it will be more detailed with the fast network speeds, graphics and photos in each ad. Improved Marketing Process Have you ever wanted to know more about your customers, but didn’t have time to track tons of data ? 5G will surpass all such problems with it’s high frequency and lower latency. This means that if you connect to the internet in the near future, you are likely to run into less time lag and more capabilities. How to Keep Pace with the 5G Marketing World ? We can associate the shift from 4G to 5G with the transformation of smart phones from mechanical telephones. When 4G was rolled out, no one could have expected the business models that developed with the support of mobile broadband such as Spotify and Uber. Most possibly the same would be true for 5G.
