Heidi Battier Shane and Heidi Battier help at-risk students in their education by providing educational opportunities through fundraising and partnering with community leaders in Miami, Houston and Detroit. Shane Battier encourage and inspire a new generation of potential leaders by providing educational opportunities through Battier Take Charge Foundation and cultivate effective leadership skills in them. As a leader on and off the court, Shane Battier firmly believes that the future of our youth rests in higher education. The Battier Take Charge Foundation, established by Shane and his wife Heidi, is dedicated to providing resources for the development and education of underserved youth and teens. With initial focus in Miami, Houston and Detroit, the Batters’ charge is to encourage and inspire a new generation of potential leaders through educational opportunities and the cultivation of effective leadership skills. We make every effort to develop future leaders of our nation and the world through our educational and professional development scholarship program in the greater Miami, Houston and Detroit areas. This simple phrase not only describes the heart of The Battier Take Charge Foundation, it serves as a motto for the Battier Family. Through our NBA journey, we have been blessed with many life changing experiences and opportunities.
