Tarannum Khan - Famous Percussionists in Mumbai We hardly see any female percussion instruments player in India like country. But, there is an exception to everyone and Tarannum Khan is one of them. She is one of the oldest table players in India and currently living in Aligarh and is born in a family of percussionists. Tarannum Khan had a great interest in learning table when she was 3 years old. Her father was the reason for becoming a percussionist player because when girls of her age were engaged in different works, he felt the talent in Tarannum. He started teaching her the table although he was opposed by his family members, he kept on teaching her. Seeing Tarannum's progress and inclination to learn the elders taught her the nuances and soon she was one of the prime members of the family who earned accolades in the family shows in India and abroad. Throughout her career, Tarannum focused on other females to come up and grow beyond singing. She now runs a tabla Academy in Daulataganj and teaches female students personally.
