  4. PILLAR N1 • Project • Project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create an unique product, service or result • Temporary= A defined beginning and a defined end. • end = project objectives have been achieved. • The uniqueness = diversity of projects

  5. PILLAR N 2 • Project life cycle • an idea for a new product/system; • research or/and feasibility study; • design of the system/product; • construction/production; • and launch of the new product/system

PILLAR N3 • Project environment • modern system of knowledge of project management recognizes the necessity for an evaluation of the respective environment and its impact on the various stages of the project • Risk management and stakeholders consideration • project=agent of change or a global, multicultural project.

  7. PILLAR N 4 • Project management processes • Project management is accomplished through processes, using project management skills, knowledge, tools and techniques that receive inputs and generate outputs

Project management process • initiating process- define the project( objectives, scope, establishing link between the project and company goals and strategies) and formal authorization to start the project • a planning process( detail scope planning; time planning, cost planning, risk management planning , plan for purchase and acquisition, plan contracting; • a process of execution • a monitoring and controlling process(schedule control, budget/cost control, risk control, contract administration; • a closing process- formally terminate all activities, closing the contract(contract dossier) launch of the product, system.

  9. PILLAR N5 • Project management knowledgeareas: • Project management scope • Project time management • Project cost management • Project quality management • Project human resource management • Project risk management • Project communication management • Project procurement management

  10. Project management scope • Project management scope is about determining what activities are included or are not included in the project. It is an important area of project management. The proper definition of the scope means the proper definition of material, financial , human resources • International seminar-missing activity( visa procedures for some guests ) • A lesson learned: a proper definition of scope equals to a successful execution of project management.

Project time management • Project time management teaches us how to determine the duration of activities and how to optimize the time in order to meet the objectives and the requirements • A lesson learned: there are always delays, but a realistic approach helps to minimize the delays and omissions.

  12. Project cost management • the planning and estimating of the cost of project activities and resources, budgeting and controlling

  13. Human resource management • This includes the processes that organize and manage the team. Traditionally this area of knowledge focuses on: • Human resource planning • Putting together the project team • Developing and managing the project team

  14. Team management • Forming • Storming • Norming • performing

  15. Project communication management is needed to ensure a timely and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval and ultimate disposition of information about project. • Target groups: company management; project team; clients, stakeholders

  16. Risk management • the risk management with its basic components risk identification and risk mitigation

  17. PMBok is a good partner for individuals who are aiming to run successful projects
