TheJourneyBegins Aditya-L1'sjourneybeganat11:50a.m.fromSriharikotausinga reliablerocketcalledPSLV-C57.ThismissioncomesafterISRO's recentsuccesswithChandrayaan-3,showingIndia'sexpertiseinspace exploration. OnFriday,ISROstartedacountdownof23hoursand40minutesfor Aditya-L1'slaunch.Ithappenedat11:50a.m.fromtheSatishDhawanSpaceCentreinSriharikota.About63minuteslater,the satelliteseparatedfromtherocketandenteredanorbitaroundEarth, whichisunusual. Thismission,namedPSLV-C57/Aditya-L1,isoneofthelongest missionsfor ISRO'sworkhorserocket.Butthelongestonestillgoes tothe2016PSLV-C35mission,whichfinishedabouttwohoursand 15minutesafterittookoff. Aditya-L1'smissionisasignificantstepinexploringand understandingtheSun. UninterruptedSolarObservation OneofthemostremarkableaspectsofAditya-L1isitsstrategicorbitalplacement.It'sinaspecialspotcalledLagrangianPoint1(L1), about1.5millionkilometersawayfromEarth,directlyfacingtheSun. MissionObjectives TheAditya-L1missionisatreasuretroveofscientificobjectivesthat promisetodeepenourunderstandingoftheSunanditsinfluenceon oursolarsystem: TheAditya-L1missionhasseveralimportantgoals.First,itaimsto studytheSun'souterpart,thesolarcorona,andhowitgetsheated.
