We Can Help Save Children’s Lives
While ‘world peace’ may seem an unattainable and unrealistic goal, saving children’s lives is much more achievable - and it has nothing to do with being a beauty queen. It has everything to do with being human - having a heart that cares for those less fortunate and being a voice for those who have none. It all starts with a simple desire: ‘I want to help save children’s lives’
I want to be part of changing malnutrition statistics Malnutrition and undernutrition make up the most alarming statistics, affecting far too many young children in impoverished communities. And yet, the solution to seeing these statistics decline is not rocket science. Almost 50% of childhood deaths under the age of 5 are due to undernutrition as young children are at a greater risk of dying from common infections. Poor nutrition can also lead to stunted growth, which is associated with weak immune systems, impaired cognitive development, and reduced school performance. The good news is that the cycle can be broken and we can change this.Through various programmes that involve on-the-ground impact, UNICEF South Africa is just one of many local charities committed to making a difference in the lives of these children and their communities. ‘I want to help save children’s lives’ starts by finding a children’s charity that connects with your passion and that you can trust with your donations. You can be part of that.
