  2. INTRODUCTION Sandwich panels are a type of modular building material used to cover structures and buildings. These panels are made up of two layers that serve as the outer structure, ensuring form, weather resistance, and rigidity. They have a core that provides thermal and acoustic insulation.

  3. POLYURETHANE SANDWICH PANEL PROPERTIES The excellent insulation provided by polyurethane sandwich panels is one of their most important characteristics. The plates’ core provides low thermal conductivity, resulting in better insulation. As a result, it is frequently used in building renovations, both on roofs and facades, as well as in the construction of industrial buildings. Sandwich panels are quickly manufactured and installed. They are screwed to the structure for assembly, and depending on the finish, they can be visible or concealed screws. As a result, the construction time is among the shortest when compared to other systems. The variety of shapes and finishes available on the market is one of the most significant advantages of sandwich panels as a construction element. Depending on the building, various types of panels are available. The finishes range from rustic to modern, with imitation wood and imitation tile panels among others.

  4. WHAT ARE SANDWICH PANELS USED FOR, AND WHAT VARIETIES ARE AVAILABLE? The insulation board is typically 1,000 mm wide, but in some models, it is 1,150 mm wide. The length of the sandwich panel can be adjusted to meet the needs of each project, with the most common dimensions being 3 to 6 metres, but in some cases, a maximum length of up to 16 meters can be achieved. The thicknesses of these panels can vary greatly depending on the final application, with the most common values ranging between 40 and 150-200 mm thick.

  5. FACADE SANDWICH PANELS Sandwich panels for facades have been improved for use in building enclosures in homes, schools, hospitals, industrial parks, and shopping malls. Sandwich panels are also available for interior partitions that need insulation. The benefits provided by these façade panels are heavily dependent on the method of panel joining. The fastening system is tongue-and-groove, ensuring adequate protection and preventing heat and humidity dissipation.

  6. ROOFING SANDWICH PANELS Sandwich panels for roofs differ from façade panels in that they must withstand large amounts of snow, rain, and other climatic factors. They are fastened to the structure with self-drilling screws to prevent leakage in the event of rain or humidity and are frequently combined with sealing joints to expedite installation without sacrificing the insulation layer.

  7. PANELS THAT ARE REFRIGERATED Sandwich panels can also be used as insulation in cold rooms or freezers. In these cases, the sandwich panel is made thicker than usual in order to withstand negative temperatures. Special attention must be paid to the joints between the sandwich panels in order to maintain the extreme temperatures required for the preservation of fresh food products.
