Work from Home Yoga – The New In 2020 has been a roller coaster ride for all of us. People all across the globe have been impacted by virtue of the coronavirus and as a result we’re all stuck indoors with a majority of the employed population working from home. Although working from home seemingly has proven to be a blessing in disguise for a plethora of reasons and has allowed us to reconnect with our loved ones, staying glued to our screens has taken a toll on our bodies. People have created a new lifestyle for themselves surrounding their work hours which have increased by an average of 40%. This means they’ve had less time for other physical activities. A ton of problems can be caused from sitting at your desk all day – spondylitis, stiff muscles, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes to name a few. So no matter how hectic work gets, it’s crucial for us to take care of our bodies. Underneath are a few simple exercises you can do right in your living room. 1.Trikonasana– This is the perfect asana to help loosen those hips and the torso. Make sure you breathe nice and slow while performing this exercise and lower your body only to the point where it stretches a little. Refrain from pushing yourself too hard in the beginning as you might get a cramp from your muscles not being ready to stretch that far. 2.Kursiasana– This pose resembles the action of sitting in a chair but it is done, you guessed it, without a chair. Hold yourself in a half squat position and raise your arms overhead while pushing your pelvis downwards. This allows you to release all the pent up tension in the core
and the torso. Since it is an isometric movement it helps you control your breathing and gives you a good pump in your workouts. 3.Cat Cow Pose– One of the most popular exercises is the Cat Cow Pose. This helps you regulate your breathing while opening up your spine. Perform all three exercises daily for a mere 15 to 20 mins to get a refreshing jump to your day.
