MancoCápac I was the first ruler of the Inca Empire in the early 1200s. In 1410–1438, Viracocha ruled the Incan empire. (He was named after the god of creations, Viracocha) Viracocha saved the capital of Cuzco. (defeated the Chancas) Pachacuti ruled the Incan empire from 1438–1471 and was the ruler who created Machu Pichu. He was one of the most respected and venerated rulers of all times and the Inca Empire had reached its highest level of development under his rule. Huayna Capac was the ruler of the Inca empire when the Inca territory expanded into parts of Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, and Ecuador , and most of Chile. The Inca economy was based off of trade because there was no form of currency. Incas had to send a bit of their crop to the rulers as a tax fee. The most valued trade object was cloth. (very hard to make) They traded pots, ropes, lamas, gold and silver. Mining and farming were the two main jobs in Inca society. The women role in Inca society was to care for the children, to cook and weave, to make beer and work at the fields. They typically married at the age of 16 and usually had more than one husband.
