Dismissal Procedures • At Mary Evans Elementary we take your child’s safety very seriously and we have procedures in place to make the arrival and dismissal times safe for all students. • We encourage parents to pick their child up through the carpool line. • Parents will be given a carpool tag on the first day of school. Hanging the tag each day on your rear view mirror will help speed our dismissal process. • If you choose to walk up to the school to pick up your child, our procedure is that the students will exit the building in a line and your child will not be released to you until we recognize the person picking up the child and the child has given us a ‘high five’. Bringing your carpool tag will help speed this process.
Buses & Daycare Vans • If your son/daughter will be riding a bus or daycare van in the afternoons, students will be picked up from their classrooms and brought to the Cafeteria for dismissal. • Students are checked in & walked to their bus/van. • If you need to make a change in your child’s dismissal routine for daycare, please send an email by 2:00 to: evansbuschange@allenisd.org in addition to emailing your child’s teacher.
