  2. INTRODUCTION/ BACKGROUND • MUSD operates 37 educational and support services sites totaling 2.1 million square feet on 286 acres of land across 8 cities and LA County. • Facilities range in age from 2-75 years.

  3. RECENT CAPITAL INVESTMENT 1998 – 2014: $300 MILLION MEASURE M MEASURE EE OTHER STATE MATCH

MOVING FORWARD • Despite substantial investment, additional facility needs are significant and continue to grow. • HMC Architects was hired to assist the District with a Long Range Facilities Master Plan. • Document existing facilities and conditions. • Define District educational and design standards. • Review demographics projections and determine school planning. • Identify facilities need based on standards and enrollment capacities. • Calculate costs and necessary funding sources and timing for implementation. • Explore available funding sources.
