  4. Decide whether each equation is an identity, a conditional equation, or a contradiction. Give the solution set. a. -2(x + 4) + 3x = x – 8 b. 5x – 4 = 11 c. 3(3x-1) = 9x +7 Identify the Type of Equation.

  5. Try this: For each of the following equations, find the solution. Then classify the equation as an Identity, Conditional or Contradiction. x = (2 + 2x) – x (x-2) + (2x + 4) = x x + 2 = x + 3 2x = 3x 2x – 4 + 3x = 8x - 5
