  2. CID #126, 83 • COMMENTS • The above comments can be considered to be grouped relating to the definition of the relationship between the adjacent and alternate channels and the wanted channel to which these interfering channels apply • PROPOSAL • To adopt the definition of 15.4i as a definition of ACR and AACR Steve Jillings, Semtech

  3. CID #126, 83 • BACKGROUND • Currently d4 of 15.4g standard defines ACR and AACR as: • The adjacent channels are those on either side of the desired channel that are closest in frequency to the desired channel. The alternate channel is more than one removed from the desired channel in the operational frequency band. • The unclear definition of alternate channel has lead to some confusion. Does it refer to a linear interfering mechanism (i.e. one whose signal may fall within the RX channel filter BW) or a non-linear interfering mechanism… • 15.4i draft definition of ACR and AACR is not band agnostic (there are separate definitions of interferer offset for the 915 MHz and 950 MHz bands), but in general the accepted definitions of what constitutes an adjacent channel and alternate channel are well documented. Steve Jillings, Semtech

  4. CID #126, 83 • PROPOSED RESOLUTION • Accept in Principle • Adopt a band-agnostic approach that is sympathetic to that of the base-line standard, but which addresses the needs of both license-exempt and designated-use frequency bands • Amend 16.1.5.8 to read: • The designated adjacent channel is the one on either side of the desired designated channel that is closest in frequency to the desired channel, and the alternate designated channel is one more removed from the designated adjacent channel. • For example, when channel N is the designated channel, channel N-1 and channel N+1 are the designated adjacent channels, and channel N-2 and channel N+2 are the designated alternate channels Steve Jillings, Semtech
