Aims of Reporting Matter • Short overview about the international development of OREI in connection with AtoN matters • Derivation of main tasks from the questionare sended by the memberstates, f.e. • - Marking (AIS, RACON, Lights, Numbering) • - Distance to shipping routes and TSS • - Other questions • Other experiances with special tasks in connection with: - Marking of OREI in general, - Marking of Windfarms - Other methods to improove the safety of ships traffic • Considerations and investigations concerning AtoN in connection with OREI. How to get Informations In 2008 the former Recs. O-114, O-116. O-117 and O-131were unified to the Rec. O-139. This Rec. contains different Marking Systems: Offshore Structures in General, marking of Aquaculture Farms, marking of OWF, marking of Wave and Tidal Energy Devices • 2009 from: • UK, Netherlands, France, Korea, Portugal, Germany • 2010 from: • UK, Latvia, Norway, France, Germany, Sweden The informations by the memberstates of the questionare are a part to observe the development of OREI and identify questions that raising in connection with the equippment with AtoNs and the safety of navigation All responses will be collected and are ready for use in the working groups as required. Questionare • 1009 from: • UK, Netherlands, France, Korea, Portugal, Germany • 1010 from: • UK, Latvia, Norway, France, Germany, Sweden • All responses where collected and are ready for use in the working groups as needed.. Questionare to get some ideas what‘s going on! Raven Kurtz
Memberstates Reports OWF 2009/ 2010 • Reported activities by memberstates in connection with OREI: • Norway ……………………OWF, Tidal Energy Device (not op.) • Sweden ………………….. OWF, Wave Energy Devices • Latvia ……………………. OWF (planned) • France…………………….. OWF, Wave Energy Devices • UK ………………………… OWF, Tidal Energy Devices, Wave Energy Devices • Netherlands …………….. OWF • Germany…………………. OWF • Portugal …………………. OWF, Tidal Energy Devices, • Korea ……………………. Tidal Energy Devices Not reported but also known activities: Danmark, Ireland, Japan, China Raven Kurtz
Raising Questions for Markig of OWF • The b.m. bullet points are derivated from the memberstate reports 2009 and 2010 and reflects the discussions with stakeholders and marine experts. The sequence means no ranking. • Requirement of fog signals, • Use of AIS, • Horizontal angel of lights, • Lighting of inner structures, • Unified numerical marking of structures for search and rescue reasons, • Use of inverse illumination for short range marking, • Use of RACON, • Distance to TSS and ships routes, Raven Kurtz
Example: Distance to TSS No international Rules. Different view points for existing TSS and new TSS in conjunction with WOF. Specific situation is importand (kind and number of traffic, risk of collision and pollution) Memberstates Reports: Raven Kurtz
