No perfect pairs/relationships. Most likely a few “spats” by now. Take heart, after the first 40 years, it gets easier. We took a vow: “In sickness or health, for richer or poorer, for better or worse… Stick together. It’s worth it. “Never alone” sung at camp… Many Young Couples…

For a woman to give herself to a man, to trust in his care takes a lot of courage. For a man to commit to a woman for a life is terrifying. To be responsible for providing for a family physically, spiritually and financially is a daunting task. To honor him when he isn’t worthy, to dwell with her “according to knowledge,” when he’d just as soon run away is demanding the impossible. Yet we do it, and find joy and comfort. Courage and commitment
“My mom makes this better…” “My dad was a better provider…” Other folks take better vacations, drive better cars, live in larger houses… Eccl. 7:10 “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times Hopefully, the best is yet to come. Pitfall of Comparison
At first, such an athletic “hunk” – now he just smells. “I love the sounds she makes when she’s asleep.” But she needs to gargle. Crunching ice, yelling, What was “cute” is now irksome. This should be the most precious person in the world. What would I give up for her/him? “According to knowledge.” Pitfall of “Quirks”

Empty house, full hearts. Do we still have dreams? Do we still like each other? Is our life over? Knowing this pitfall gives us time to prepare. Pitfall of the “Empty Nest”
A time of honor or despair. Excitement of grand or great grand children. But prepare for trouble. Health, money As never before, we’re going to need a partner, or children God’s laws prepare us as no governmental program can. God always provides. Pitfall of old Age
