Billet/Title • Medical Logistics Officer (ROS) • Assistant Supply Officer (FOS) At a brick and mortar MTF you would have 20-30 (Military & Civilians) accomplishing all that you do onboard the USNS MERCY & USNS COMFORT FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY
Primary Responsibilities • As Medical Logistics Officer: • Medical material readiness • AMALs and contingency supplies • Medical equipment readiness • SERP (Shipboard Equipment Replacement Program) • Equipment preventive maintenance program • DRMO/HAP of excess equipment • System implementation and program management • DMLSS (Defense Medical Logistics System Support) • WAWF (Wide Area Workflow) • FPP (Fleet Procurement Programs) Your Scope of Work far exceeds what a JO would be charged with at a shore based MTF FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY
Primary Responsibilities • Assistant Supply Officer – assumes numerous Supply Corps functions underway • Primary Assistant to the Supply Officer in the leadership and management of the following divisions: • S1 : Stock Control (Purchasing), Material Issue (The Barn), Budget Development and Execution, Post Office • S2 : Food Service Operations • S3 : Ship’s Store, Barber Shop, Laundry • S4 : Disbursing Office • S6 : Equipment Management/BIOMED Repair Budgets, Contracting, Equipment Installation, NGO Coordination, Government Agency Coordination, Partner Nation Coordination… FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY
Major Initiatives • Equipment standardization • TAH platform • Contingency Supply List • Medical “never-out” list • Systems implementation • DMLSS and WAWF You will gain more medical logistics experience onboard the ship than you would get at any other MTF You are ‘THE EXPERT’ during extremely fast paced operations that will have national and international ramifications FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY
