buildingSMART Japan Status ReportWashington DC(Dec. 2009) • Current Membership: 72 (-2) organizations • 50(-1) companies and 22(-1) research organizations • Domain Group Activities: • Structural Domain Group • Implementation of AR to ST analysis using ST-4, joined the Implementation Group. • Architectural Domain Group: • Process modeling based on IDM approach. • Building Service & FM Domain Group: • Improvement of conversion from HVAC Library (BE-Bridge, includes fan, air terminal, AHU, etc) to IFC. • Study on BIM data interoperability with domestic building energy simulation tools. • Civil Engineering Domain Group • Working on shield tunnel model for IFC. • Implementation Group • Three domestic software vendors working on IFC implementation (Architectural, Structural analysis, and Building Service CAD) • Fukui Computer Inc. released the first BIM architectural CAD system named “Gloobe”. • Future ArchiTech Group • Organized Build Live Tokyo 2009 Part2 9-11th Sep. 2009. • Technical Task Force • Supporting IFC implementation activities of CFD simulation software • Joining the working group of “BIM Parts for CFD software” in the society of Heating, Air-Conditioning and Sanitary Engineers of Japan. • Technical support for Build Live Tokyo 2009 Part2. • Events: • Build Live Tokyo 2009 Part2 • 48hours BIM collaboration event on 9-11 Sep. 2009. • 7 teams were participated and successfully ended. • http://bltokyo2009-2nd.seesaa.net/ (Japanese only) • Archi Future 2009 • 9th October: The AEC IT solution exhibition (former AEC Systems Show Japan) • buildingSMART Japan (IAI Japan) half day seminar dedicated to Build Live Tokyo 2009 Part2 introduction & award ceremony. • Recommendations and Priorities: • Improve IDM & MVD contents for better certification framework. • Improve new function providing technical & practical support for BIM-IFC adopters, such as Aquarium. • Collaboration with international Structural Model Group.
