Draft New Resolution ITU-R[CRS]/1, WP 1B, 18-11/52r0 • Title: Studies on the implementation and use of cognitiveradio systems (CRS) • Resolves to invite ITU-R: • To study the introduction and use of CRS in radiocommunication services; • To study operational and technical characteristics, requirements, performance and possible benefits associated with the introduction of CRS in relevant radiocommunication services; • To study the technical conditions associated with the implementation of CRS technologies in radiocommunication services in order to facilitate, ensure and enhance coexistence and sharing among radiocommunication services in specific frequency bands; • To develop relevant ITU-R Recommendations and/or Reports based on the aforementioned studies as appropriate… • 802.22 showed intention to consider contributions to this documents John Notor, Notor Research

Spectrum for Innovation Act of 2011 Congresswoman Doris Matsui has introduced in the House, a bill to have the FCC and NTIA study opening two new segments of the 5 GHz bands. Another bill is in the works that would subject this spectrum to auction. This document introduces these actions, and potential impact on IEEE 802.11 projects. Rich Kennedy, Research In Motion
