  5. Titus 2:1-2 But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: “Sound” is from ὑγιαινούσῃ (hygiainousē) whose root is “hygiene”.

  10. We clarified that the use of wine in the Bible was for disinfecting water; like our modern chlorine. If you drank water without some wine in it you risked dysentery, cholera, e-coli, microsporidiosis, hepatitis or literally dozens of other diseases from bacteria, viruses, protozoans and parasites. These diseases were often fatal. Even today the WHO says water borne diseases are still the world’s leading killer (VOA News WHO)

  11. Wine was always mixed with water… normally 3 or 4 parts water to one part wine. This was done to disinfect and make the water safe to drink.

  12. Wine without water was considered barbarian… or totally uncivilized or “unchristian”.

  26. Solid Men- Love Who decides what the “moral preference” is?

  27. Who Decides Moral Preference • Moral- standard of right or wrong. • Atheist author Sam Harris thinks “science” can determine morals in his book “Moral Landscape: How science can determine human value.”

  28. Who Decides Moral Preference • Harris is fumbling with the severe inherent flaw in atheism that if there is no God there can be no objective morality, only personal preference. • Harris argues that scientific morality “should be defined as the well-being of conscious creatures”.

Atheists Moral Preference • Atheists either ignore or fail to logically recognize how their scientific moral preference is subject to “scientific” interpretation… • To the atheistic Hitler scientific wellbeing meant the elimination of blacks, Jews etc. to the killing of over 20 million people.

  30. Atheists Moral Preference • Atheist Stalin like Sam Harris did not consider it “moral preference” but an absolute of wellbeing that led to killing 43 million people. • The atheist Mao believed as Harris that science could define absolute morality…

  31. Atheists Moral Preference • “Natural science is one of man's weapons in his fight for freedom. For the purpose of attaining freedom in society, man must use social science to understand and change society and carry out social revolution. For the purpose of attaining freedom in the world of nature, man must use natural science to understand, conquer and change nature and thus attain freedom from nature” Chairman Mao Zedong Speech at the inaugural meeting of the Natural Science Research Society of the Border Region (February 5, 1940).

  32. Atheists Moral Preference Mao used his scientific morality to affect cultural change by killing 75 million Chinese.

  33. Atheists Moral Preference As the classic atheist leader Nietzsche predicted~ Atheistic Regimes of Hitler, Stalin & Mao kill 140 million – Atheism led to killing more in 1 century than all religions in all of history combined. It is obvious science is a failure at determining human value.

  35. Solid Men- Love • Agape Love - Unconditional love that centers on moral preference. • Literally… to prefer above everything and everyone. • Loving God means to prefer Him above all else.

  36. Solid Men- Love • When we love people we give preference to them. • In honor preferring one another. Romans 12:10. • Considering how what you do affects others. • 7 generations.

  37. Solid Men- Love • When we love others with agape love we don’t love them above God, we love them according to God, preferring people and valuing them the way God values them; instead of killing them He died for them.

  41. Solid Men- Love • A. Remaining under. • B. Being steadfast. • C. You are in progress not perfection. • D. Keep on keeping on… • E. Families cheer godly progress.

  42. Solid Men- Love • F. PATIENT WITH YOURSELF!!!! • 1. We aim for progress not perfection. • 2. Don’t be hard on yourself as it backfires locking you into the past.
