How it came to be • Open minded, creative thinking, utilizing existing services and asking them to operate in a slightly different way. • The wheel was not redesigned, it was just moved in a different direction. • First meals were prepared in Virginia and delivered to NSAP offices by Arrowhead Regional Development Commission staff.

  6. Meals were then prepared in Grand Marais and delivered to NSAP offices via the AEOA Arrowhead Transit Bus. Meals and other necessities delivered to participants by NSAP staff. The need continued to increase and out grew Grand Marais capabilities. Meetings with AEOA, Vets Home and NSAP to create a plan. Meetings with Finland Co-op to develop partnership.

  7. Grant written to CLP to purchase freezer to be placed in the Finland Cooperative. • Contracts signed, freezer purchased. • Meals prepared at the Vets Home, picked up by a NSAP volunteer once a week and delivered to the freezer in Finland. • Volunteers pick up 5 complete meals and ½ gal. milk and deliver to participants weekly.
