How did Web 2.0 develop • Web 2.0 basically developed by Tim O'Reilly’s company called O'Reilly Media which started the whole software. • After some time, more and more people starting using it, and as it became a larger organization, it quickly developed, and became more advanced. • Today many people around the world use Web 2 .0, and it is developing rapidly with new applications, more cites, blogs etc.
Advantages/Disadvantages • Web 2.0 provides many social and financial benefits, such as Skype, new web designs, experiences, thoughts and comments are easily exchanged. • Some disadvantages would be that with all of these applications, there is a larger chance of getting a virus, or getting hacked.
What kind of people use Web 2.0 • Many bloggers, web developers, architects/designers use web 2.0, and it has also become a huge organization to make money on. • People who make money using web 2.0 usually make advertisements, videos, games, eBook’s etc. Many of these ‘online’ jobs are becoming more and more popular with the Internet’s quick and advanced developments.
Reliability of Web 2.0 applications • Most of the Web 2.0 applications are reliable, but it is not sure to be 100% true due to the information being biased, based on opinion, and it could also be written by organizations who are advertising, and trying to sell their products. • Many people use the Internet for educational purposes but the information may not always be reliable because they have not checked their sources, and just believed whatever was written.
Conclusion • After all this research I clearly believe that Web 2.0 is very useful because it offers a large range of applications, and makes everyday life easier. • It is reliable as long as people check the site, to see who it has been made/written by, and when it was last updated. Also as the technology is developing, it is becoming safer to use as long as you a conscientious, and know where and what to search for.
