SG-3 Actions from Plenary #4 • Action [P4-12] Propose a version negotiation scheme • CLOSED – Version 1 (ED-110B/DO-280B), Version 2 (ED/DO-YYY) • Action [P4-14] SG-3 to propose how to include DCL in FANS accommodation INTEROP document • OPEN – Accommodation rules in ED-YYY for DCL Request and Clearance • Action [P4-18] SG-3 maintains the CPDLC message set master specification • OPEN – Message set defined in ED-YYY Part 3 • Action [P4-19] SG-3 to assess if it can develop a generic INTEROP doc with specific sections for specific network • CLOSE – New requirement schema (e.g CPC-IR vs. CPC-ATN-IR) – Operating Methods are generic

SG-3 Work Progress Overview • ATN INTEROP (1/2) • Version 0.8 • 80 comments received (see resolution in comment sheet) • “almost” aligned with Integrated SPR (August 2008) • New section on DO-280B/ED-110B Backwards Compatibility (BC) • New requirement numbering schema (generic vs. ATN) • Version 2 CPDLC Message set (+82UM, +36DM) • Version 1 messages not modified for BC • Aligned with Doc 4444 Ed. 15th (-14/+12) • New messages to support ACL (-1/+1), ACM (+1), AMC (-1/+1), DCL (-2/+2), D-TAXI (+35) • New pre-defined messages to replace Free Text messages (+9) • New “time” messages (accuracy down to the second) (-59/+59) • Some TAXI fields still not defined, BLOCK LEVEL messages to be addressed • Version 2 D-ATIS Message set updated (ICAO input) • Section on support of Oceanic services completed

SG-3 Work Progress Overview ATN INTEROP (2/2) TO DO list Move operational IR to integrated SPR Align FIS ASN.1 messages with ATIS (ICAO Annex 3) and TAF templates Review ATN PM-FIS V0.1 Rules on use of CPDLC or DSC connections Issues Requirements on Dialogue types “Should” or “shall” statement (e.g. airport dest = field 13a) Positive logon with FIS in case of flight plan correlation failure BC issue : when a UM is sent to an ED110B aircraft that does not support that UM, use of FREE TEXT message to send “non-clearance” messages, reject in case of “clearance” messages.

SG-3 Work Progress Overview FANS1/A+ INTEROP Version 3 TODO List Accommodation of DCL Request and Clearance Operating Methods for Oceanic Services Comments received last week Issues BC issue : when a UM is sent to an FANS1/A+ aircraft that does not support that UM, use of FREE TEXT message to send “non-clearance” messages, reject in case of “clearance” messages. Accommodation of SC-214 aircraft by ground oceanic FANS system might be a new SG-3 work item in a future WP.

SG-3 Work Progress Overview ACARS 623 INTEROP DCL and D-OTIS Version 0.1, D-TAXI not started Approach for D-OTIS D-ATIS and VOLMET request/reports as per ED-89A (except Free text ATIS data) New messages for NOTAM request and report (update and full) ; ignored or rejected by ED-89A D-ATIS server D-OTIS/AIB requests processed as 2 requests (D-ATIS + NOTAM), concatenation of the received reports into a single D-OTIS/AIB is local implementation choice SG-3 Issue Is ED-85/89A Message size limit (< four block messages, 800 characters) still applicable for D-OTIS sub-services ? Or should a multi–response “message 1/x” mechanism be supported ?
