  1. Habitat • The Bald Eagle is found in large places of open water with a lot of food supply and old growth trees to nest in. The bald eagle lives in north America. Bald eagles live alone. Bald eagles usually fly alone. But some of them follow others to feeding groups.

  2. Diet • The Bald Eagle eats fish ,birds ,mammals and other prey. usually local Bald Eagles eat salmon. Bald Eagles in Washington need to eat 498 grams 1.078 pounds of fish each day for survival, with adults usually eating more than young and thus reducing what they could possibly do energy to protect and to making it more likely to survive during winter.

  3. Behavior Characteristics The bald eagle is a powerful flyer , and soars on a column of rising air. Its diving speed is between 75-99 miles per hour. The bald eagle usually lives far from humans. The bald eagle goes down fast and grabs the fish with its sharp claws. Out of any birds in North America, it makes the largest nest.

  5. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS • The feathers of an adult bald eagle are dark brown with a white head and tail. The tail is a little long and slightly wedge shaped. The Male and females are identical in feather coloration. The bald eagle as the body length of 28-40 inches. Females are 25% larger than males, averaging 12 pounds, and against the males average weight of 9.0 pounds.

  6. Interesting Facts • During the late 19th century and the first two thirds of the 20thcentury, Bald Eagle populations seriously declined almost all of there range. But the Bald Eagles had received some earlier legal protection. In 1978 the Bald Eagle was listed under the U.S Endangered species.
